Have had 2 Grenville plum trees for several years which flower profusely, looking like brides in May, but have very seldom set any fruit at all. In the same area I have an Early Golden, a Shiro, a Burbank, a Damson, a Tecumseh(also not very fruitful), an Italian prune, and a German Prune, as well as plum rootstock (in a trial for pollination purposes, but to no avail). I live in central Nova Scotia near the mouth of the Debert River. I have been told that I should cut a branch from a wild plum and take this to my trees and shake it while they are all blooming, but I know of no wild plums in this area. The European plums are loaded this year and my wife is making Damson plum jam as I write! Would appreciate any advice re. the pollination of the Grenville plums. As well as the plums we grow apples, pears, sour cherries, grapes(1 acre), raspberries, etc. Many thanks, Don Folkins
