Hi! I recenlty saw a picture of a fascinating plant that's called Nipple fruit (Solanum Mammosum). I would like to have one but not sure if it can be grown indoors. Could somebody please help? :-)

That’s a very good question. Solanum mammosum is native to tropical America, zones 10 to 12. As such, it requires huge amounts of light and will probably struggle outside of a greenhouse in New England. However, if you’re up to the challenge, it might be fun to see if it can be grown as an indoor plant. We recommend that you treat it like a tomato plant (which is in the same family, along with potatoes and nightshade). Try growing it indoors in a pot and make sure it receives ample light. Put it outside in the last week of May and leave it in the sunniest spot available. Bring it back indoors before the first frost. We’re not sure if the plant will fruit but it’s worth a try. Be warned that the plant may be susceptible to whiteflys and mites in areas of dry winters. Good luck!
