Ed, Episcia species and cultivars are beautiful but very tender. I lost about 70 plants winter before last when my atrium dropped to 50 degrees F for one night. That's around 10C if my calculations are right. There was a grower in Miami that always had a large quantity of them on hand and the last time I contacted them they had decided not to sell them anymore due any temperature drop that could wipe out their entire collection. I have a good friend here (the moderator of Aroid l) who grows them all the time but he keeps them in his house! As I recall, they are related to African Violets.

Very beautiful along with beautiful flowers, but don't try to grow them outside if there is the slightest chance of a low temperature.

    Thank you Photopro.
I keep mine inside and will not put outdoors because I don't want to end up with bugs. I gave cuttings to a few people and in the last few months this one has grown tremendously. As you can see, the leaves are quite large.

If they don't survive below 10C then I will have to give them a miss : (
