I've attached pictures of an anthurium.It was a present from a friend. I live in Bangalore, India. Please help identify the species.
Not Anthurium at all, but Philodendron - Anthuriums have a collective vein, and generally don't have encapsulated spadices as you show in your photos. Check out Philodendron erubescens - I'm pretty sure you've got the species, and not one of the paler cultivars.
Thank you for the response. Sorry for incorrectly identifying the plant. I discovered the love for plants very recently. So im still new at this :) I've had this plant for over 6 months and wasn't sure what it was. It flowered this morning.. I just googled Philodendron erubescens and there it is. I feel silly now. Thanks a ton :)
