We moved a 10' pink dogwood tree and a 8' weeping laburnum tree the last week of Feb. - 10 weeks ago. They have a couple of small leaves but they are not really leafing out yet - obviously distressed. We are watering thoroughly 3 times a week. What else would help them get established?

Did you fertilize the new hole? If so with what ?
How big were the root balls? Are you sure you are not over watering them as this would add to the stress they are allready going thru.

You mention watering 3 time a week. be carefull you do'nt drown them,

It may be a case that you have to be patient with them.
Even though they are stressed to much kindness may not be a good thing.

    regards doug

    Thanks for your reply
The holes were fertilized at planting time with transplanter fertilizer. The soil fell off the roots as they were dug out, so there was no root ball at all. These trees were planted 1 - 2 days after digging, (some weeeping maples went in first) the roots being for the most part exposed for that time.
Here our soil is very sandy and the weather has been unusually dry, hence the watering.
Would another dose of transplanter fertilizer be a good thing to do? or is patience the right thing.
