I'm from Northern Ohio near Lake Erie. I wanted to know if any studies have been done in British Columbia with Himrod, Lakemont, Interlaken, Vanessa, Einset or Canadice grapes? Has anyone ever heard of Jupitor grape vines, or the types listed above? I have placed an order for them for Spring 2007 planting however, I need more info. in case I need to change my order for more winter hardy verities. Is 7 1/2 ft. between vines adequate? Are 1X vines a good quality for starting a new vineyard? What is the best fruit spray to use on grapes both organic and non-organic types?
It doesn't sound to me like you need BC-specific information... For information about a few of the cultivars, at least, visit the Cornell University's Open Access site and search through the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletin (1885-1970), since at least a few were developed there.
