native plants that attract birds&butterflies

I am looking for the names of local native trees, shrubs and perennials that attract wildlife. I would also like to know which species of birds or butterflies are attracted to these plants. Thanks for the help, I am designing a native/wildlife garden in the UBC area for a Landscape Architecture studio project. Cecilia
