I am attempting to source plantings for a steep bank.

My goals are twofold: 1) prevent erosion 2) create a visually beautiful, native and edible landscape that is attractive to grandchildren, butterflies and bees. (Non-poisonous to dogs and kids.)

Would anyone be able to suggest a shopping source for:
    1. Bulk Pacific Northwest Perennial Wildflower seeds similar to this American Website.
    2. Medicinal and edible native plants that aren't invasive.
    All tips gratefully received!

    Hi,

To start with your research, spend some time here: Saanich Native Plants

They have sections on native edibles and also will sell custom seed blends. When it comes to native plants, there is a movement toward using (hyper)locally-sourced seeds--but I don't think there is a nursery with similar offerings on the North Shore.

(I'd also argue that locally-occurring native plants can't be invasive...though some are certainly aggressive/assertive in gardening situations)

Just wanted to thank you again for the excellent referral. I have contacted Saanich Native Plants and they are going to do a digital consult for me. It was exactly the place I was looking for. Very much appreciated!
