I have ( in a new garden) a large Nandina with beautiful green, red and gold leaves. It had a regular rounded shape but the recent snowfall has left it splayed open. It is also too large for its spotty it is about 3 feet tall and 4 1/2 feet wide) . If I prune away some of the largest growths will it fill back in the center?) I will also try to prune around the outside edges.) Suggestions? Or shall I chuck the whole plant?
