Hello. Long story. My mom was a teacher at my elementary school. When I was in preschool, one of her students gave her a pot with two ivy's in it. My mom placed it in my north facing window in Houston, TX. The plant has been in the exact same window for 23 years. One of the ivy's died fairly quickly, the other flourished. It was re-potted once about 15 years ago. It has never been fertilized. For the past four years (coincidentally about the time I moved out of the room), it has been going crazy. It has taken over the window. It primarily has one trunk, but I have tried starting a few more. The plant puts out some pink/white stems/leaves and some green leaves. In high school, I took it to my biology teacher and he said it must have a small amount of chlorophyll in these leaves, but they do not look green at all.

The really strange part is, last year almost exactly a year ago to the day, it bloomed for the first time in 22 years. This year, it bloomed again in two places almost on the same day (May 5th). I have always wondered about this plant, and since it is the oldest house plant in our family, and it is starting to bloom, I would love to know what it is. I appreciate any help I can get.

Leaves will green up with more INDIRECT light. Hoya carnosa aka wax plant will live under all kinds of adverse conditions. If that window does not get direct sun pull the blind up or place it where no direct sun gets to it, just lots of light.

Those flowers will have drops of deliciously sweet nectar on them, lick it up before it drips on furniture and stains it ;-)
