WHAT IS THE GROWTH RATE OF A PACHIRA TREE AND WHAT FERTILIZERS CAN HELP IT GROW ? I still do not have the growth rate info, any leads ?

I have just bought a condo in So Cal by the beach. In the backyard was a beautiful tree that our Cockatoo and Conure birds could spend the entire day in. We also have gardeners that are employed by the condo-asso. I came home to find they had trimmed (pruned, hacked)this lovly tree to less then 1/2 of its size, from 45ft ht x 40ft w to 20ft ht x 15ft w They cut the main branches but left a few sprouts above the cut and what appears to possibly be flower buds at some of the tips. I am very concerned about how long it will take for this tree to grow back to its original size which provided us with a great barrier and privacy from all of the neighbors and made our yard a wonderful place to be.

consider hiring a qualified consulting arborist to give you a valuation of damage if it has been done without regard for ANSI pruning standards and in future try to get pruning work done by contract in accordance with this standard. If you dont have a contract then there isnt much to be done about getting the first company to be liable for some damages due to their negligence. In that case try getting a qualified arborist in to view the tree and give you a scope of work to remediate or manage damage due to poor practice.

If you can provide some pictures of the tree someone here may be able to give you some basic advice or suggestions for future care.

Well that truely is a shame! I guess anyone with a chain-saw can get a license and call themselves an Arborist? I'd speak to the people that sit on your committee and express your concerns.
The damage is done, but they are water lovers and respond quickly with regular deep waterings.

    Cheers, LPN.

    Thank you for the input.
Do you have any idea where I can find out what it's growth rate is ? I do have an arborist coming by this week to take a look but he is being brought in by the asso. Bear

You are exactly right. they used a chainsaw and I suggested that they simply knock on the door before they take a trees future into their own hands. Bear
