We adopted a pachira aquatica (money tree) in our office in Tokyo. In summer, we have high humidity and in winter, it can be quite dry. It hasn't been doing well. The leaves are not straight anymore--they droop from the point where they grow, and are getting brown on the ends. The direct sunlight may be the cause of the brown leaves--should we move it about to avoid the direct light? What is the cause of the drooping? Each leaf is a bit wavy, also. The plant just doesn't look very healthy. I also noticed that other potted pachira have a bulbous portion sticking out of the ground. Did we plant it too far below the earth? There is no bulbous part showing. How often, how much and what should we feed it? I heard it requires humidity--how often should we spray? A Concerned Pachira Caretaker
