I have a beautiful "parrot plant" that I have grown from the tinest of cuttings into a 1ftx2ft beauty. In a matter of weeks though it has lost all of it's flowers and it's leaves are falling off rapidly. Each branch had new buds and growth and even they are wilting. Someone please help. It's been infested by tiny black flying bugs who sit in hoards around the flowers (when there were some left) and there is white flecks around them (eggs?), though these seem to have disappeared. The disaster started when the plant was close to glass sliding doors inside. I moved her away from the draft and am now on my 4th location for her. She's moist and I've given her a bit of food (though I don't know if it's a good one for her). Help please, I'll be crushed if she dies! I know there are lots of different plants called parrot plant. There is a photo of one like mine here: http://images.google.com/imgres?img...&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&sa=N
It's an impatiens and yes, it might have deteriorated because of the colder, duller conditions at this time of the year. Try more warmth and light.
what about the insects? are they helping or hurting or neither? the leaves aren't their normal deep green either. Does this plant do this naturally for the winter?
