My grandson asked, "Are the berries edible?"

    My grandson asked whether the berries formed on the pink wintergreen stalks (Pyrola asarifolia) are edible. I can find uses for the leaves, but nothing about the fruits. I'll appreciate your insight.

    I looked up the berries on the web and got to the FDA site, FDA Poisonous Plant Database , which says that yes the berries are poisonous.
