I took photos of several mushrooms this weekend that i cannot identify. I'll post separate messages for each one, so as not to confuse one with another. All are in northern New Mexico, USA in the Sangre de Cristo mountains on the east fork of the Red River at about 9500 ft (3000m). This is just for fun. I have no intention of eating them. Also, the one that is pulled from the ground was found like that. I didn't pull it up.
I think that's the correct genus. Even knowing that, looking thru my book, i can't decide specifically. I guess i should have mentioned the size of this since there is no context in the photo. It is about 7" across.
