Long story short, I went shopping for citrus food for my new citrus trees, and everything I found was missing SOMETHING, either sulphur, but especially magnesium. everything had manganese. I was looking at the multivitamins I take, and they seem to have everything my plant needs and more. So I'm wondering. Can I share my multivitamins with my trees? I can't find any threads about this currently. I don't see any harm right now but then again I am COMPLETELY IGNORANT so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. Thank you all for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Yours, Baconology (the science of bacon)
Your chosen fertilizer could be supplemented with magnesium sulphate (epsom salts) which can be purchased from a local drug store. Just be sure to choose the plain variety.
Excellent, I have read about people doing this. I will take your advice to the bank. Any idea if I can just drop a person-sized multivitamin into the soil next to my citrus tree? Seems like they are going to expire before I can use them all anyway. EDIT: what about mitocondrial fungi? E B Stone and Son have a citrus fertilizer i've been eyeing.
No idea but I wouldn't mess with something that's meant for humans. I've not used a soil inoculant with citrus.
The internet is filled with success stories, the consensus seems to be that it works GREAT but isn't cost-effective given the high price of human multivitamins. just wondering if an expert has an opinion. don't want to kill my little tree buddies ! :D
