Is cedar mulch likely to harm watermellon or will it just preserve the water in the soil, same goes for roses and other large flowers, can we use it around lots of garden areas , how about veggies? Say tomatoe plants and sqaush?
I think it will make soil acidic??? Maybe mix it up with other mulch material as well. Straw comes to mind for tomatoes and veges. Breaks down well and creates good friable soil. See if this answers yr. Q. http://agebb.missouri.edu/hort/meg/archives/v7n3/meg6.htm Liz
