    Hello,
I have to move two hydrangea macrophyllas that are large in size (6'x6'). The question is when is the best time to move them. Should I wait until they go dormant or is moving them now an option. I cannot wait unitl springtime unfortunately. Right now our weather is in the 60's during the day and 40's at night.

    Thanks

You should move them now. H. macrophylla also has the ability to be divided, much like a perennial. You may choose to move one, divide it in half, and dispose of the other to lessen your workload. The divided plants will quickly recover and should be the same size again in a couple of years.
