I have two Nanking cherry bushes that I need to move. They are about three years old, but have already been moved a couple of times. Surprisingly, we got a few cherries this year, and they are done now. When is the best time to move them?

I would move them in the Spring , as Edmonton probably does not have a very lengthy autumn for the tree's roots to regrow prior to winter . I would though, undercut the tree and leave it in place in late August to aid in the removal of your cherry in late April or early May ( before the leaves come out ) .

I got about 12 cherries this year! They will produce lots, though, once I stop moving them around! They are a tart cherry that makes fabulous jam, if they don't all get eaten first by people or birds. I have had them in the past and they can be hugely productive. You will enjoy them.
