We have a 15-foot Magnolia in the wrong place. Its branches overhang our neighbours yard, and we are planning to move or sell it, and are wondering: (1) should we prune the overhanging branches nowÉ; (2) What is the best time to dig it up and move and transplant it?; (3) Does it have deep roots and is moving it really feasible?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
    Louis.

Evergreen or deciduous? The latter is harder to move, probably not feasible unless you have a competent contractor do it for you. Either way you will need to know what you are doing to have it work out - especially if you are going to sell it to somebody else, who will be expecting to get a tree that lives and grows on their site for their money.
