I have a banana plant in the ground with a height of about 15feet and a root structure something like 6feet around. Its too close to the house (in Vacouver).
I would like to move it or split it up to place around the lot.
Can it be done and if so how?
I did not wrap it this winter and it is now totally brown and wilted. I believe that it will come back from the roots. Is this correct?

Now's a good a time as any to move/split your banana plant. It's likely to be very heavy but you can always try. You may need a bobcat otherwise. If it's Musa basjoo, yes it will grow back in spring.
