I've got a large palm tree that I bought from Ikea that has its own ecosystem going on. At first, it was completely taken over by yellow house mushrooms, but I liked them, so I let them stay. But something was killing the mushrooms, and soon I started seeing millipedes. I tried picking them out and tossing them outside at first, but they keep coming back.

They can't get out of the palm tree pot, and they don't seem to be hurting the tree. I've read in some places that they're good for a plant, aerating the soil and spreading around nutrients. So if they stay inside their ecosystem and don't really bother anyone, should I just leave them? Or will they start to cause harm?
