I am on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo and I'm trying to source about a dozen Microbiota decusatta plants. It seems that nobody carries this conifer here. Can anyone suggest where I can locate it? Thanks
Shouldn't be too difficult to find. Maybe your search was stymied by the typo in the search term? (it's decussata, not "decusatta" ;-)
If you can't find them at a local garden center try this on-line link to order, http://www.provenwinners.com/plants/microbiota/celtic-pride-siberian-cypress-microbiota-decussata However, "proven winners" brand is sold at the Art Knapps and Long Lake Nursery in Nanaimo so if they do not have, they should be able to get.
Thanks pmurphy for your helpful information. I have phoned Art Knapp's locally and they don't carry it. I will try Long Lake Nursery…I was there on Monday but didn't ask. I have called around the Island and most places do not carry it and also don't know what it is. Michael F thank you also but I have called most nurseries and garden centres on the Island and have had no luck. Don't think the typo affected my inquiries by phone! I purchased it in Penticton years ago at Art Knapp's for a design I did. We have it in our gardens at work but it was purchased in Edmonton. I need about a dozen plants for a garden design. Thanks all!
