I just moved to the country, and there is an approximately 30 foot maple tree in my front yard. The tree had about 6 suckers around it's trunk, some of them a fairly large (6 to 8" diameter). They were cut about a week ago, and now the leaves of the tree are drooping. Will it come back on it's own or is there something I can do to help it along. It is a very nice tree and I would like to keep it healthy.
    Thanks for any help/advice.

Water is not the problem. Here in Maine we have had about 2" of rain in the last 2 weeks.
