I am interested in starting and growing Mango in my 16x12 heated greenhouse, I think I did I foolish thing, I am leaving to Florida for several weeks and wanted to store the seeds still in their pits in my fridge until I return however I inadvertently put them in my freezer. Can anyone please let me know if they will still germinate? Thank you!
Reading this article in Tree Physiology, Seed germination and seedling development in the mango (Mangifera indica L.), it looks to me that mango seeds need to be kept at a moisture content above 30% dry weight and a temperature above 15°C / 59F. In other words, plant them into a warm environment with fresh seed. I don't think your seeds would have survived fridge or freezer. Or, even being left on the counter (as they would have dried out).
