Hello! I am new here and I discovered the forum because I have a problem, or well, my Palm is having a problem.

Today I noticed a growth from the drain hole of the pot of an indoor Majesty Palm.

I considered that it might be a spore, or bud, or some kind of thing it does. The growth got larger today and began to look like a lemon or tennis ball.

Just now I got down on the floor to take a photo: they are whitish/tan mushrooms growing!

As a city kid, I'm deathly afraid because I've actually never handled a wild mushroom.

Thoughts and advice? This is strange. I've had the plant 6 months and it was gifted by a friend. It became overgrown in his office, so I brought it home, trimmed it several months ago, and thought it was returning to health.

    Ill post momentarily with photos.

Most potting soil contains a good percentage of bark; mushrooms are built to grow on and decompose bark. So mushrooms will happen occasionally, especially if the soil's wet. It's not going to hurt you or the plant if you just grab them and pull them off.
