I have seen a couple of sources saying that Mahonia can be propagated from leaf cuttings. Has anyone ever tried this? Can you please elaborate on how you did it? Thanks, Travis
I have a book that describes success with leaf BUD cuttings in fall. - Cut a segment of the stem that includes a leaf (& corresponding bud). - Trim the compound leaf down to just a pair of leaves (to reduce transpiration) - Angle the cut below the leaf node & treat with rooting hormone - Stick the cutting fairly deep in rooting substrate - Bottom heat apparently aids root formation I'm attempting it with them covered so that the cuttings don't dry out. Don't know if I'm successful yet, it's only been a week. Good Luck Simon
