Magnolia grandiflora have been in bloom for a week now, and this forum could use some photos. These are from two locations in my neighbourhood, both belonging to condo or apartment buildings. I don't know the cultivar names.
They just might be Majestic Beauty ('Monlia') and 'Samuel Sommer' respectively, I can't tell for sure using only these shots. And many unselected seedlings of Magnolia grandiflora have been dispersed and planted.
Well, it hadn't occurred to me you'd think it possible to name these. Here are some photos of the first one, from 2010; last one from 2019. These are from today. I'd have said no indumentum, but the leaf back did feel like there were smooth hairs, and something did rub off onto my fingers. Leaves are around the length of my hand span - 8", 20 cm. I have assumed that the four trees are the same, soon to be three trees.
