I live in NE Florida and have two madagascar dragon trees growing outside and they are getting too tall. I would like to know if there is any way to trim them without killing them? They are apx. 10-11 feet tall.

Dracaena marginata is often seen in a lopped back condition so it will certainly sprout from stumps.

Thank you, how far back do you recommend?

Apparently you can cut just about anywhere, judging from what is often seen. No that the results are at all attractive...

I'd rather have tall wandering stems than the Hydra Effect. But after yours grows back for some years you may think it looks just dandy, making the operation a success.

Agree with Ron, and you can also re pot the tops for new plants if you wish
