Looks nice but I don't know what it is

Found this one going hiking near Quabbin Reservoir in Massachusetts USA. It looks kind of like a lilac but there subtle differences. Not sure if you have to identify it to get a submission used but here it goes.

 

I too would like to know. I thought I knew but leaves don't look right
