Save On had pineapples as a houseplant a while back. When mine looked ripe enough we ate it. I seem to remember this forum telling me to just leave the plant in its pot 'cause it would grow another, smaller pineapple. Well look at this: the plant on the left is the original, and sure 'nuf it grew another one. Not only that, it grew an offshoot which I duly cut off and planted. That's the one in the middle. Of course we rooted the cap from the one we ate, and its on the right.

Well, the second (?) generation pineapple fell over on its stem so I assumed that it was ripe and harvested it. It was really sweet! Naturally we're going to see if we can root it, and we're also going to leave the parent plant in the pot to see if we can get a third generation. What are the odds?
