This may be cultivar dependent, but I just picked up the 2nd one being discussed *long single leader* to compare the final growing shape:frameork to the 1st short stubby multi branching being discussed.

    1st Tree Framework
One with a thick trunk with 3 or 4 main branches emanating from a 6-9 inch trunk height low where the 3-4 branches form the framework of this tree forming a cupped shaped framework

    2nd Tree Framework
    Same Cultivar. Mikawa Yatsubusa
Single Leader about 4 Feet High. Stems on the top of this leader, with 1 branch mid height and 2 branches below

Riddle me this.....how are these 2 in framework so drastically different in terms of leader height.
The shorter multi stemmed branching does not appear to be -topped-

Is the 2nd one , with the top stems left alone and just limbed up in it's earlier years of growth.
Or is this more a characteristic of pot grown vs field grown.
Or a myriad of everything of the 2 + fertilizer
