http://xrl.us/nnxz http://xrl.us/nnxz My lily bed is starting to bloom. I have about 20 types in a 100 foot square bed. This is the first year, they were planted last fall, so I am expecting many attractive blooms. Only three are starting, but there are many buds. The names are hidden on tags in the vegetation. I'm really looking forward to seeing the lily bed but the link doesn't seem to be working - at least not for me.

Are these Orienpets? What are some of the tallers ones you prefer? Are they fragrant? Lilies give a lot of bang for the buck.
The lot is a mixture. To me it is just a lily bed. There are so many types of lilies that the names have no meaning, unless one is researching them for some reason. I had the names one time, but the tags got buried in the vegetation so I gave up. A lily is a lily is a lily. Do they have an odour, I don't know, since I seldom smell flowers. All I know is visually they are a sight to behold. Many are over four feet tall. I planted them just for the visual display. I am partial to strong colours, deep red, bright yellow or any strong colour for that matter. Durgan.
They are gorgeous. A recent visit to the Missouri Botanical Garden (as well as a tightening supply of garden space) has me inspired to find fragrant tall lilies, as long as I am shopping. A Stargazer waft of fragance is a nice bonus. I would like to find a 4-5 foot sturdy lily with up-facing flowers and fragrance. Scherazade is a tall, fragrant lily, but it hasn't joined my garden yet. There are others. Your images are great, as before. Thanks for sharing them.
