    Hello..
I have a Lemon Verbana plant, I should say bush, that is about 4 feet tall and two years old. We are moving and I would like to know if it would be ok to transplant it to the new garden, and if so, should we trim it back before or after replanting it? We live in Virginia near the mountains and it the nights are getting cooler, so I am worried that it won't be able to withstand the stress of trasplanting. It is very hard to find the plant in this area and I am rather fond of mine. I would appreciate any suggestions...

    Hi Kerry,
Hope I'm not too late for you. Yes, you can take it with you. Water it well the day before you dig. Cut the plant back by about one third to one half. Dig a good sized rootball and if you don't have a pot big enough for it, you could use a plastic grocery bag. Plant as soon as possible, but don't leave it in the bag more than a week and do make sure there are no exposed roots.

Good luck in your new home,
    Newt
