Leaves missing on baby 24" bing cherry tree

hello,

i'm new to gardening and bought a bing cherry tree from arbor day foundation last year and planted it in the fall. this spring it gave small leaves, then a catepillar ate most of them. new leaves appeared following that but today the leaves are gone.

do you think this will survive? and if so what do you reccommend me do to care for it?

 

If it was deer this time you need to fence it. Watch out for the poison ivy behind.
