Last one, this is it. For now. Had no tag. I think it's common, but don't know what it is. Looks like a vine to me. Green with white white edges. Anna
yes, that's a hoya. carnosa - there are many cultivars. you may see some pink on the leaves also or this may be one of the green/white only types. yes, it's a vine - you can either let it hang from a hanging basket or train the vine onto a trellis or other support. your choice and either way it will look nice. it's a succulent so it doesn't need a ton of watering. it does need a well-draining soil - so do a mix of cactuc and orchid soils and give it a good soak every few weeks until summer when it should get more frequent water. especially if you put it outside - it'll definitely need more watering then. some say it likes a bit of humidity - i've got it on the windowsill above my kitchen sink, so i know it gets a bit there - i've only got small cuttings though (4 different types), so none have done much growing yet - i have seen blooms on three of them though, so something about the conditions is good. it likes to be rootbound so keep it in that small container. low to medium lighting - i've got mine in a west-facing window that has kind of sheer curtains and is also blocked by the house next-door so it only gets a couple hours of bright light. does not like to be cold!! anything lower than 50 is the danger zone. it may take a while to flower or it may bloom fairly soon - it depends on how mature the piece of vine is and there's really no way to know that. so, it's a wait and see. even without the flowers, it's a nice plant. when it flowers, they're amazing! this one has a nicely scented flower, too. they're really small though - they grow out from the vine on stems (i forget the correct terminology) and you can have up to a dozen blooms at one time. once the blooms are done, leave that stem thing as new buds will form. once they start going with the flowers, they do so profusely, too. i'm looking forward to that happening here over the next few months. :)
