We bought a new house and the back has a 9 ft. tall philodendron with a large trunk and 10 or so huge leaves that are mostly brown from one hard freeze we had this winter. Can we just cut it down and let it start over since it seems to be a fast grower?

yes.... several hard freezes have left us leafless also. I have cleaned all of the dead away(since danger of frost has passed for us here in Charleston), and in the last 3 weeks we now have 2 new leaves......Enjoy!
