I just purchased property that has a very old kiwi vine that had not been prunned for five years. This past October it beared thousands of kiwis, but now it's spring and I started to prune it where there was no buds. As I was doing this, it started to bleed sap everywhere I cut and it bled for days. Have I done something to harm it ?

I think its always better to prune the kiwi when it is dormant so it doesn't bleed sap. It will probably be okay though. Maybe water it if the ground is dry to help it with the loss of sap.
