    Jill Cherry is leaving VanDusen Garden - a surprise to everybody. She has been appointed overall director of all of RHS's gardens in the UK. Her departure will leave a huge vacuum in the Vancouver gardening scene, but with the opportunity that's opened up for her, how can she resist?

    Sounds like the RHS has been doing some Cherry picking.

    I know a great fellow that would be very qualified to take on her former responsibilities. I have sent him an email and I will give him all the support I an to take this vacant position! goodluck Jill, godspeed in your new position! and good luck to the candidate I have alerted! some talent that shall be well used if chosen!

    Where did you hear this information? I'm not finding anything announced officially on any of the sites I'd expect to see this on, nor on the BBC.

    I found a Vancouver Sun article, but it's behind the subscriber firewall, so can't read it. Knew I should have picked up the Saturday paper.
