I have a very young Japanese Maple that i planted this year. Man it shot up like a rocket! IT went from about 1ft. to 3.5 ft in about 3 months! All of a sudden, it is getting spots eaten on the leaves. it's actually holes in the middle of the leaves. I tried to google JM problems but i didn't find anything like this. I'm thinking it's getting too much water. Hurricane season is rocking us hard here in the south with alot of rain. but why would that put holes in the leaves? I have it in a spot that gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Please help! I love that little tree! I don't want it to suffer!
Hi Razzmatazz, Sounds like Japanese beetle damage to me. Glad to hear your tree is doing so well.
