It is Acer palmatum, and if that is its colour in July then it is a very pretty one :) Unusual to see such a vibrant red in July (certainly over here in Ireland)
I'm from the Netherlands. I think the weather should be similair here. The plant was placed on a cemetary, where it is under full sun daily. This picture was taken this month and the colors were the same when I visited it in April. The color is really stunning, I wish I can somehow find out the cultivar so I could find another Palmatum which can match it's color. I noticed that this leaf has 7 lobes, while the most I come accorss only has 5.
"Fireglow" and "Emporer I" have the best color in zones 7 and 8 in full sun here but not exactly like that picture. That may just be a seedling. Their are too many named red cultivars that are very similiar and hard to tell apart. The best thing to do is cut some scions and graft it or find someone to graft them for you if you are unable. Looks worthy as most red cultivars have either bronzed out or have become a darker shade of purple by this time of year. Justin
