My jade plant was getting top heavy and slight leaning but was still looking fine, yesterday I tied the branches to help it be more upright. Today it has completely flopped over, any advice on what I can do now?

Try a brighter light exposure and a totally enclosing, free standing support like a tomato cage - look for something suitable at a garden center. Where a variety of such products should be on display. You need something that will hold up the entire top.

It is in a south facing window but next to a portable air conditioner that is new, so not sure if that's affecting it. Should I prune it to lessen the load?

Set up a light source for it elsewhere in the room if you have to. And yes, the leaf drop alone may be from the draft.

You could prune it drastically. Even on the sections with no leaves left, new ones will bud out.

Now, if you can, you could put it outside in a place that doesn't get too much sun at first.

I put this one outside months ago. It's in a very shallow pot, and seldom watered. The outside of the leaves are beginning to turn red :

This other one ('Golum', or whatever) was indoors but becomming leggy, the leaves were beginning to wither, so I put it outside two weeks ago and it's recovering :

    It's from cuttings :

Cuttings are so easy to make : just let them dry for a couple of days, put them in any soil mix without watering them, and after 2 or three weeks, water them sparesly and you'll have new ones.

They don't need a lot of soil, they don't need much water, on the contrary.

They can stand temperatures outside down to 3, 2 or 1°C : if you keep them outside just before freezing, they will have a better chance to flower, around Xmas time here.
