    Hi all,

I've been growing J.maples in Ottawa for 15 years. I have 25 varieties. In the last few years, right about now -June-, many start wilting at the tips and then I rarely get any more growth the rest of the year. They have usually put on between 6-12in., depending on type, then the last couple of leaves wilt and drop instead of maturing. This does not seem to harm them, they always grow again the next year.
    Any thoughts or answers?????

    Richard

Slight climate change with hotter dryer summers and prolonged wetter milder winters can surely cause noticeable changes in plant habits.

If your not seeing any die back at the nodes or tips, or have holes deloveping in the leaves, then assumption towards environmental stress is a good direction to look.

With your experience and amount of trees, if you ever had time to the log climate vs. plant habits could really tell an interesting story in years to come.

    Jim.
