I am enquiring about Italian Cyprus Trees for the Vancouver area. It appears that they can survive here but don't particularly like the wet conditions. I would like to start a few trees in pots on our south facing patio to get then climatized. Where I can get smaller seedlings for this purpose? Something in the order of 12" to 24".
I know I can get them in the USA but it appears that there are restrictions in bringing live plants back into Canada.

Try a search for 'Mediterranean Cypress' . . . 'Cyprus' is the country ;-)

Should be no problem growing it in Vancouver, as long as the soil drainage is reasonable; it doesn't mind lots of rain. No need to start them in pots, that could just lead to long-term problems with restricted root systems.

Cypress* uncle. Are you planning on keeping them in pots? Or planting them in the yard? You wont need to climatize them here. Try some nurseries in the valley.
