I have had this plant for about 12 years and have always thought it was a Schefflera. When it was about 2 years old it died way back during a move from California to Idaho in the back of a pick-up truck, and then it grew back. After several repottings it has now grown to about 8 feet tall and is pretty much out of control. I have researched cutting options on the internet and have found that the air layering method would be best if this is in fact a Schefflera. Problem is it doesn't look like any of the pictures of Schefflera shown on the internet. Any advice? Thanks in advance if you can help.

I would say it might be a Fiddle leaf fig, AKA Ficus lyrata
