New growth on this maple has stopped growing and is curling. what could this be? Im watering it at just the right amount, maybe even less than needed. Im not sure if under watering leads to curling of new growth though.
Hi Soumil I'm thinking more of a bug problem. Have you checked for Vine Weevil eggs hatching out ? These grubs munch on the rootsbof maples in Spring and cause death of the plants. They are small white maggot looking grubs. Definitely worth a look.. I water in nemetodes in Autumn and Spring every year to my potted maples to stop this problem. The nemetodes feed on the young grubs before they hatch out.
Sorry, a bit rushed. Check for bugs, definitely. It could be viral, or even over fertilization though that seems an unlikely mistake for you. Chemical is usually more overall distortion and dieback.
