Last summer I bought an unlabeled Japanese maple at Rarefind Nursery. It was a very healthy specimen at a great price. Between watching it leaf out this spring and looking at Rarefind's catalog for last year, I'm guessing that it could be an Acer palmatum 'Tsukasa Silhouette'. The leaves are quite small, the summer foliage is green, and the autumn foliage is red-orange. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I'll take a few pics of my silhouette. It's looks very similar. Mine is about 4 years old. I'm pretty sure your guess is right!

Thanks very much for your reply. How tall is yours? And has it kept its upright shape?

Mine has the vase upright shape, except for that low branch I saved for scions!

I purchased a Tsukasa Silhouette last year and I would say that you also now have one. Here's a picture of mine.
