Hi There. I recently acquired the below plant and I believe it is an indigo ficus based on my online research - can anybody confirm this? Further, I included a photo of the trunk of the plant for some advice. Is it common for so many small trunks to be included in the same pot? Is special attention/care required - I think I need to get a bigger pot. Anyway, I appreciate all advice/comments...I'm very new to this but very excited. Thanks!
Perhaps you mean Indian Fig, though I think that's another species? Yours is Ficus benjamina. HTH Chris
Thanks Chris! I actually read on the website linked below that there are new 'versions' of ficus benjamina which are being introduced widely as improved ficus which hold their leaves better. I just became interested in indoor gardening within the past month, so I have no clue if the information I found is from a valid source...? http://www.plant-care.com/ficus-new-varieties.html Anyway...thank you for your help. -Jess
Interesting, I hadn't seen those cultivars before. Still yours doesn't look all that different from a typical F. benjamina. If someone else has more info' they'll likely jump in to set things straight. Regards Chris
