Can anyone identify these insects on my Royal Poinciana?

I have a young Royal Poinciana growing in a pot. I purchased it last year and it was growing well. Few weeks ago I noticed these rose thorn like insects on my tree. Since then the branches are dying. If anyone knows what they are and how to get rid of them, Please help.

It's pretty rare for a Royal Poinciana to get bugs. Try planting it in the ground with fresh dirt and mushroom compost.
