Where would one find information on growers of shrubs and trees in the Surrey/Langley/Abbotsford area if one wanted prices lower than retail nursery ones?

Where would one find information on how to become such a grower? Zoning issues, market demand, marketing the plants?

On becoming a grower, there is a huge amount of info on the BC govt site here--

    http://infobasket.gov.bc.ca/portal/...control=SetCommunity&CommunityID=300&PageID=0

I also talked to the nursery specialist at the Dept. of Ag in Abbotsford...you could call, and also meet him in person if you wish. Helping people develop ornamental nurseries is one of his jobs.

I will say that the question about determining markets and simply deciding what to grow is something that has taken me many years, and won't be answered by any one person at one time. Your situation will be unique, plus the market is constantly changing.

My one bit of advice, don't do what everybody else is doing.
